Benefit Haul

Products look slightly darker than they are. (It was storming outside, therefore no good lighting)

Hello hello everyone! :D I'm here to show you a few Benefit goodies that I've gotten. Benefit has always been a brand that was always slightly out of my price range but I previously owned only 3 items from them. A few of these items have been on my wishlist for years now or ever since they were released. I only planned on getting the Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation but I somehow ended up getting Erase Paste and The Porefessional primer as well. :/

Erase Paste ($26) has been a product I always wanted to try ever since I started wearing makeup about 4 and a half years ago, I just never picked it up for some reason. It's a peachy toned brightening concealer so it would be good for your undereyes. I wouldn't necessarily use it for my acne scarring cause it isn't the color of my skin. Benefit has also recently released a mini sized version of Erase Paste but it unfortunately only comes in the shade medium for some reason.

The Porefessional ($29) is a primer that minimizes the look of your pores. I've actually tried a few samples of this before and I absolutely loved it and it definitely helps minimizes the look of your pores. It comes in a tube that doesn't really come with a lot of product (22.0 mL) luckily you only need a little to get the job done. Won't use this till I use up my other primers and samples though.

The Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation ($34) has been pretty much raved about ever since it was released. Me, being foundation obsessed I just had to try it. I was also looking for a more lightweight foundation for the summer months. Not only does it come with a mouthful of a name, it also comes with a nice controllable pump as well. However I still love my MAC Studio Sculpt and will continue to use it, I just like trying new things. I got this in the shade Petal which is the second lightest shade.

With my purchase I also got a deluxe sample of Watt's Up, a frosty champagne colored highlighter. Not sure if I would like this over my HG highlighter, Dior Amber Diamond but we'll see. :P

Review: Mac Studio Sculpt Foundation

I've been using this foundation for about 2 months now and I thought I would share my thoughts on it.  It retails for $30.00 and comes with 40ml of product, which is 10ml more than your average foundation. The shade I use is NC20. My skin is combination-dry with just my nose and chin getting a bit oily throughout the day while the rest of my face is dry. I have acne-prone skin but I have not experienced any breakouts with this foundation. Just make sure you remove your makeup entirely every night.

The texture of the foundation is different from a liquid foundation. It's more of a whipped consistency then a liquid consistency. Coverage wise it is a medium-full coverage foundation depending on how you apply it and how much you apply. I apply it with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (that I have reviewed here) before that I applied it with my fingers and that worked great as well.

 No makeup                                                                                      With Foundation

As you can see you can see here by my two police station mugshots (kidding! but I do look horrible) the foundation has covered up my blemishes and my uneven skin tone quite well.  I squeeze about the equivalent of 1 and a half pumps to cover my entire face. The finish of the foundation is dewy but a healthy dewy that isn't greasy or oily looking. The foundation still looks good after an entire school day and after school as well, but can use a touch up by then. I will admittedly say that it doesn't quite have the lasting power as Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation but let's be honest I don't think any foundation lasts quite as long as that. I really love this foundation, it hides my imperfections and makes my skin look great and healthy.

Hope this has been somewhat helpful to someone. If you have any questions please ask them in the comments and I'll make sure to answer them as best as I can. Now I'm off to put on the rest of my makeup that I so desperately need. I pinky promise I don't always look this bad. Until next time, goodbye everyone!

Makeup Regrets

You know those products that you buy cause you think they'll be life changing and completely amazing. Well this post is dedicated to those products that are not.

1. NYC Bronzing Face Powder is bargainus at $3 but it lacks any pigmentation to achieve any sort of bronzed look. Many people adore this bronzer but I had to keep swirling my brush inside the product and applying it to my face, expecting some sort of result.

2. MAC Bronzing Powder in Golden is another bronzer that lacks pigmentation. For the price that it is you would expect some sort of result as well, it did give me one, but not the result I was expecting. It left a ton of golden glitter on my face, that's right GLITTER, not shimmer but glitter. I got swooped up in the limited edition packaging craze and ordered this online, I guess I kind of deserve it.

3. MAC Feline Kohl Power is supposed to be the best black eyeliner that MAC has to offer. Yes, it is creamy and yes, it is extremely black. It just doesn't stay put no matter what you do. Within an hour or two I have proper panda eyes. Sorry but I just don't see the hype.

4 & 5. L'oreal The One Sweep Sculpting Blush Duo in Nectar (4) and Poppy (5) is another product that lacks any pigmentation. AT ALL. Poppy sort of shows up on your finger (after rubbing your finger on it like a maniac) but is extremely chalky and nectar is just nothing. Why do companies bring out such fail products?!

6. Revlon Colorstay is a much loved product in the beauty community. I will admit there was a time where I loved this as well but not so much anymore. While it is a decent foundation, it isn't the best foundation. Shade range could be better, gets cakey easily, dries way too quickly and the smell is horrific.

7. Revlon Colorstay 12 Hour Eye Shadow in Berry Bloom was bought in that stage when I first started collecting makeup. That stage where you have to buy everything you see, just cause you "have to." They're pretty nice eye shadows with decent pigmentation, but purple is just *not* my color. The claim that it lasts 12 hours is just ridiculous as well.

8. Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Pink Please is such a beautiful color. Unfortunately when purchasing it, I didn't realize that it had gone bad and smells horrible, like burnt plastic. As I've mentioned in another post, please check these lipsticks before purchasing, other than that I adore this range of lipsticks.

Some of these products are about 3-4 years old and some are more recent. I have a whole box of makeup I don't use/don't like so expect more regret posts in the future, mainly drugstore products, nothing too fancy. Until next time, good bye everyone!

March Favorites

Hello, hope you're all having/had a wonderful Easter, if not then I hope you have had a wonderful day. I love reading other peoples favorites so I thought I would join in on the fun.  I know I'm a bit late with this, but I've just started this blog so please forgive me. :P

1. Urban Decay Naked 2 pallet is a super popular pallet. I much prefer this the second one over the first one cause the colors aren't as smokey. One of the best investments ever, saves much guesswork in the morning as all the colors I could ever need are in one pallet.

2. MAC Bare Study Paint Pot is MAC's version of a cream eyeshadow. Bare Study is a shimmery champagne color. I use this under eyeshadows or by itself when I'm in the rush. One of my first MAC purchases all the way back in 8th grade and it's still going strong.

3. MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation is my favorite foundation that I have tried so far. It has a healthy dewy finish and medium-full coverage. I have this in the shade NC20. Will do a full review soon.

4. Imju Fiberwig Mascara is my favorite mascara. Of all time. It is a lengthening mascara.  I usually don't spend a lot of money on mascara, so I can only say that it is my favorite among the drugstore offerings. Fiberwig is pretty expensive in Sephora but I found an ebay seller that sells it for cheaper here

5. Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer in Fair. Is an illuminating concealer that it suppose to brighten up any dark areas. I use this on my under eye circles which have been particularly bad this month and then I follow up with my regular under eye concealer.

6. Canmake Cream Cheek in no.5 Sweet Apricot is a peachy apricot with golden shimmer. I absolutely love these cream blushes. They're a cream to powder formula and this color is just lovely. Cream blushes are my favorite type of blush.

7. Nars Laguna Bronzer is another staple. The goldeny brown color works very well with my skin tone. It's not too shimmery or too brown/muddy looking that sometimes happened with Benefit Hoola.

So those are my march favorites, I hope you've enjoyed.
