A Few More MAC Lippies

If you guys couldn't tell already MAC lipsticks are my favorite lipsticks, because MAC has a huge selection of colors and different formulas and the price of them is about mid-range (in the U.S. at least.) With brands like Nars, Lancome and others being high-end and brands such as Chanel, Dior and Sisley being luxury brands. And then some of my favorite brands such as Revlon, Maybelline and NYX being low-end but definitely without skimping out on the quality of their products.

MAC lipsticks retail for $14.50 in the U.S.

Razzledazzler (lustre) was a limited edition color that came out with the Fashion Sets collection (the Asia part) but was only available online but is now sold out unfortunately. It's a beautiful peachy-orange color. I believe it is permanent in Asia.

Impassioned (amplified creme) is a bright watermelon pink, perfect for summer.

Lickable (cremesheen) is extremely similar to Girl About Town. Its a cool-toned fuchsia. I would say its the sheerer little sister of Girl About Town.

Last but not least is Girl About Town (amplified creme), another cool-toned fuchsia. I put off getting this as I thought it would be too cool-toned for me, but after seeing it on Melissa's Blog  (Bubbles, Glitters, Unicorns!) and seeing how beautiful it looked on her I just had to get it. I definitely would recommend following her blog cause it's great. :)

P.S. I'm seriously debating whether or not I should get a Clarisonic, tired of the state of my skin and my constant battle with clogged pores (it's awful.) It definitely would be an investment, but I'm willing to try anything at this point.

All Cosmetics Wholesale Haul

Someone please stop me. I can't seem to stop buying lip products, well it's not necessarily a bad thing is it? Recently ordered from the All Cosmetics Wholesale website and got a great deal on some gorgeous products.

Picked up 4 of the Korres Mango Butter Lipsticks that were reduced from $18 to $7.99. The Mango Butter Lipsticks are lipsticks that are very moisturizing while giving sheer color and high shine while giving protecting lips with a spf of 10.The shades I got are Coral, Peach (which isn't peach at all), Natural Pink and Rose.
-Coral is a more of a true coral color that isn't too pink or red.
-Peach is actually more of a pink-fuchsia color with tiny gold shimmer.
-Natural Pink is a warm light pink.
-Rose is the sheerest of the four, it's a warm light pink with gold shimmer. Definitely a my lips but better shade.

I also got the Korres Love Your Lips Collection. I don't know the original price of this set but it cost me $10.99, which I thought was a steal for 3 full sized products. Haven't used any of the products yet, will share my thoughts later. The set comes with:
-Rasberry Antioxidant Liquid Lipstick (retails for $22) in the shade Berry #28.
-Jasmine Lip Butter Glaze (retails for  $14)
-Jasmine Lip Butter (retails for $12)

Also picked up 2 of the Korres Lip Butters, not including the one I got in the set. I really like these lip butters they're extremely moisturizing while giving a hint of color. They were $5.99 instead of the usual retail price of $12.
-Pomegranate is a sheer coral.
-Quince is a sheer cool pink

I got 2 of the Estee Lauder Signature Hydra Lustre Lipsticks in Coral Kiss ($9.99) and Cherry Kiss ($12.99), they originally retail for $22.50. They both come in a beautiful gold metal packaging that has a bit of weight to them. They look so fancy and vintage looking. I'm guessing these were part of some limited edition collection cause of the LOVE stamping on them. The formula of these are creamy, moisturizing and feels comfortable on the lips while providing full-coverage color.
-Coral Kiss is a coral with a slight frosty finish, nothing too frosty though.
-Cherry Kiss is a cherry pink-red.

Last but not least I got a Tarte Cheek Stain in Full Blossom which I got for $9.99 reduced from $30. I've always wanted to try one but they are a bit on the expensive side. I believe that this color was limited edition. I've only used it once and I like it so far. It's a flushed pink color with gold shimmer.

Be expecting a few posts over the weekend since I'll be having some free time. :)

Goodbye My Allowance, It Was Nice Knowing You

Hello everyone! I popped into MAC today with my empties in hand, but of course me being me I didn't leave with just the lipsticks that I was planning to Back2MAC for. I also picked up 2 paint pots that have been on my wishlist for almost a year now.

I'm  a big fan of the MAC paint pots ever since I bought my first one almost 4 and a half years ago and it's still going strong. These pots of creamy goodness (:P) are great for just applying a quick wash of color to the lids or as a base for your eyeshadow. People with oily lids may want to apply a primer underneath to prevent creasing. I think these 2 colors will look great during the summer as well. Rubenesque is a peachy-pink with a golden duo-chrome and Indianwood is a golden-orangey bronze. Paint pots are $17.50 each, and I realized that the price has gone up a dollar from when I first bought one. :/

The original reason for me going into MAC was to exchange my empties that I have been saving for a few lipsticks. I now realize that the three lipsticks I got are all very similar to each other but I love all of them none the less. I have a slight obsession with anything and everything coral or peach colored, I can't help it. I don't hear many people talking about ravishing or crosswires, I think it's cause they look a bit boring in the tube, but I think they're gorgeous. I also think these shades will be great for spring and summer. MAC lipsticks are normally $14.50 each.
  • Ravish is a beautiful peachy coral color. It is a cremesheen formula which is my favorite formula that MAC has to offer.
  • Crosswires is more of muted cherry red coral. It is also a cremesheen formula.
  • Vegas Volt is a pretty popular coral from MAC, it's more of a true coral compared to the other two. It is a amplified formula, which is my second favorite formula.
Hope you guys have enjoyed this post. If you have any post requests for me please say so in the comments and I'll make sure to make note of it. Until next time, goodbye everyone!

No Shame In A Little Retail Therapy

About 2 weeks ago Ulta was having a one-day deal on the Cargo Beach Blushes. Instead of  the usual $30 price tag, they were 50% off at a much more reasonable $15. Since I was contemplating on purchasing one anyways, I quickly jumped on the opportunity and bought 2. The ones I picked up were Coral Beach and Sunset Beach.

The Beach Blushes are suppose to be a blush that is the perfect mix between a blush and bronzer, giving you the flush of a blush but the warmth of a bronzer. Depending on which stripes you use, you can get different colors but the swatches above are all 4 stripes blended together. Coral Beach is a coral bronze color and Sunset Beach is a pink bronze.

Last week Ulta had all NYX and Revlon products 40% off. I also took advantage of that and my lip color addiction continues...

The Revlon Lip Butters were reduced from $7.49 to $4.49 and since my local Walgreens *still* doesn't have these in stock yet, so I only ordered 4 of them cause I know I'll eventually pick up a few more. Not going to talk about these too much since pretty much everyone has talked about these at one point or another. Creamsicle is a peachy-pale orange nude, Creme Brulee is a tan beige, Strawberry Shortcake is mid-tone bubblegum pink and Candy Apple is a warm apple red.

Along with the Revlon Lip Butters, I got 5 of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, which were reduced from $5.99 to $3.59. I've been wearing Antwerp while putting this post together and sipping on some tea and it's held up incredibly well for the past 2 and a half hours of wearing it. The texture of it is quite different as well, it's hard to describe. It does dry to a matte finish but it isn't unbearably dry (I'm looking at you MAC matte lipsticks!) Tokyo is a pale pink, Stockholm is a brownish peach, Antwerp is a coral-pink, San Paulo is a berry and Addis Ababa is a hot pink with tiny blue micro-glitter.

Last but not least, I got 6 of the NYX Xtreme Lip Creams that were also reduced from $5.99 to $3.59. The Xtreme Lip Creams are like liquid lipsticks. I guess you can say it is a glossy version of the Matte Lip Creams. Natural is a beige nude, Nude Peach Fuzz is a peachy pink, Buttery Nude is a is a brownish-peach, Candy Land is a mid-tone bubblegum pink, Dolly Girl is a hot pink and Strawberry Jam is a bright strawberry pink.

Along with the lip products I also got Revlon Top Speed Nail Polish that was reduced from $5.99 to $3.59. It's in the color Jaded. I've been wanting this nail polish for forever now but it never seemed to be on sale when I was in the store. It's a lovely mint color that is fully opaque in 3 coats.

I absolutely love everything I got, especially the bright lip colors and completely recommend all of the products. Until next time, goodbye everyone!

Makeup Regrets

You know those products that you buy cause you think they'll be life changing and completely amazing. Well this post is dedicated to those products that are not.

1. NYC Bronzing Face Powder is bargainus at $3 but it lacks any pigmentation to achieve any sort of bronzed look. Many people adore this bronzer but I had to keep swirling my brush inside the product and applying it to my face, expecting some sort of result.

2. MAC Bronzing Powder in Golden is another bronzer that lacks pigmentation. For the price that it is you would expect some sort of result as well, it did give me one, but not the result I was expecting. It left a ton of golden glitter on my face, that's right GLITTER, not shimmer but glitter. I got swooped up in the limited edition packaging craze and ordered this online, I guess I kind of deserve it.

3. MAC Feline Kohl Power is supposed to be the best black eyeliner that MAC has to offer. Yes, it is creamy and yes, it is extremely black. It just doesn't stay put no matter what you do. Within an hour or two I have proper panda eyes. Sorry but I just don't see the hype.

4 & 5. L'oreal The One Sweep Sculpting Blush Duo in Nectar (4) and Poppy (5) is another product that lacks any pigmentation. AT ALL. Poppy sort of shows up on your finger (after rubbing your finger on it like a maniac) but is extremely chalky and nectar is just nothing. Why do companies bring out such fail products?!

6. Revlon Colorstay is a much loved product in the beauty community. I will admit there was a time where I loved this as well but not so much anymore. While it is a decent foundation, it isn't the best foundation. Shade range could be better, gets cakey easily, dries way too quickly and the smell is horrific.

7. Revlon Colorstay 12 Hour Eye Shadow in Berry Bloom was bought in that stage when I first started collecting makeup. That stage where you have to buy everything you see, just cause you "have to." They're pretty nice eye shadows with decent pigmentation, but purple is just *not* my color. The claim that it lasts 12 hours is just ridiculous as well.

8. Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Pink Please is such a beautiful color. Unfortunately when purchasing it, I didn't realize that it had gone bad and smells horrible, like burnt plastic. As I've mentioned in another post, please check these lipsticks before purchasing, other than that I adore this range of lipsticks.

Some of these products are about 3-4 years old and some are more recent. I have a whole box of makeup I don't use/don't like so expect more regret posts in the future, mainly drugstore products, nothing too fancy. Until next time, good bye everyone!

Color Coordinates: Peach, Orange and Coral Please?!

(Picture of products taken on top of a peach lace shirt from Forever21)

It's a healthy obsession, alright?!

1. Essie nail polish in Tart Deco
2. MAC lipstick in Ever Hip (LE)
3. MAC Mineralize Blush in Improvise (LE)
4. Canmake Cream Cheek in no.10 Sweet Orange
5. Canmake Cream Cheek in no.5 Sweet Apricot
6. Cargo Beach Blush in Coral Beach
7. Wet N'Wild Megalast nail polish in Club Havana
8. Milani HD Advanced Lip Color in Ignition
9. Essie nail polish in Mango Bango
10. NYX round lipstick in Orange Soda
11. The Face Shop Lovely ME:EX Milky Tint in no.02 Baby Peach
12. Essie nail polish in Meet Me at Sunset
13. NYC Blushable Creme Stick in Pink Flash (LE)
14. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Coral Reef
15. MAC Mineralize Blush in Fresh Honey (LE)

This was a really fun post to do and put together. I'm now thinking of starting a color series like this one and updating them as I buy more products. As far as I know no one has done this yet, maybe products within a certain category like lipsticks, blush, eyeshadow etc. If they have, please let me know cause I would love to see theirs as well. Maybe a pink one will be up next?

Favorites: Lipsticks

One of my favorite makeup products *ever* is lipstick. It has the ability to complete or brighten up any look. Lipgloss, in my opinion, is heavy feeling, sticky and just a tad too sheer for my liking unfortunately. There are some truly amazing lipgloss formulas out there, but those are the few exceptions. Besides, the hair in lipgloss look is never attractive under any circumstances. I currently have 9 lipsticks that stand out to me among my modest sized lipstick collection, but I'm sure I'll be picking up a few more sometime soon. Cream finishes are my favorite finishes, frosts and shimmer are just not very flattering, but that's my preference. Non-drying formulas are a must.  First up are my MAC lipstick favorites, each retail for $14.50.

  • MAC Creme D'Nude is a beige nude with the slightest peach tone to it. Darker skintones may have some trouble wearing this as it may make them look zombie-fied. It is a cremesheen finish which happens to be one of my favorite finishes from MAC.
  • MAC Hue is slighty yellow toned pink. Definitely a "my lips but better" lipstick. It is a glaze finish but a bit more pigmented than your average glaze.
  • MAC Peachstock is a tan peachy nude. A great summer shade for when your tanner than usual. I have this in the limited edition Liberty of London packaging, which is, hands-down, my favorite MAC collection to date. It is available at MAC Pro stores but is permanent in Asia I believe. It is a satin finish so it can be drying at times but a bit of balm solves that situation.
  • MAC Ever Hip is a pinky coral. Unfortunately this is a limited edition color that was repromoted and sold out almost immediately. Very flattering on almost all skintones and not too shockingly bright either. Another cremesheen finish.
  • MAC Morange  is a straight up bright orange. I am in *no way* brave enough to wear this on its own but it is great to mix with another lipstick to add an orange touch to it. It is an amplified finish, so it is very creamy and very pigmented.

(From L-R)

These are my drugstore lipstick favorites, none are over $9.
  • Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Soft Nude is a peachy soft nude. Aptly named isn't it? Compared to Creme D'Nude it is more peachy and wearable.
  • Wet N'Wild 519A is a cool toned strawberry red. A bit annoying that it is numbered and not named. It has also broken at its base but I'm willing to be forgiving as it is only $1.
  • Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick in Pink Me Up is a mauvey-pink. Just a fair warning, some of these lipsticks go bad so make sure to check them out before purchasing.
  • Milani HD Advanced Lip Color in Ignition is the perfect mix between coral and red. Probably my favorite lipstick in my whole collection. Worn this for weeks, maybe even months at a time.
I hope you guys have enjoyed this post. Tell me what are some of your favorite lipsticks and I'll be sure to check them out.
